Los Primos Mexican Restaurant is more than just a place to eat—it’s a story of family, perseverance, and tradition.
In the early 1980s,
Rigoberto Perez and Jose Polo Perez arrived in the United States from
Degollado, Jalisco, with little more than a suitcase and a dream of building a better future. Like many immigrants, they faced unimaginable challenges but never lost sight of their passion for food and community.
A decade later, they reunited with familiar faces—“Los Primos” (The Cousins): Rigoberto, Polo, Cesar, Juan Carlos, Alejandro, Angela, Jose, and Jesus. Together, they worked tirelessly in various Mexican restaurants, refining their skills and deepening their love for the culinary arts.
After years of dedication, the dream of opening their own restaurant became too strong to ignore. In
April 2015, that dream became a reality with the grand opening of
Los Primos Mexican Restaurant. With over 15 years of experience, they set out to share the rich flavors of their heritage with the Chesapeake community and beyond.
At the heart of the kitchen is
Jesus Garcia, who brings passion and authenticity to every dish, inspired by the traditional recipes of his mother and grandmother. Mentored by his uncle Jose, Jesus has perfected signature dishes like
Enchiladas Verdes, Fajitas, and Carne Asada, all crafted with the perfect balance of flavors to create unforgettable dining experiences.
